This colorful and masterfully crafted quilt was done by Mathea Johannesdatter Norde between 1861 and 1865 as she waited for her betrothed, John Olsen Wrolstad (A2-B) to return from the Civil War. Mathea and John were married in 1867. They had 12 children. The quilt is in a special collection at Vesterheim, Norwegian-American Museum, Decorah, Iowa.
